Road Traffic Information

The Arcanum Communications Location Server provides the basis on which ITIS Holdings plc provide Cellular Floating Vehicle Data as a service to road transport agencies and governments internationally. The data can be used to create accurate estimates of traffic flows, allowing agencies to continuously monitor and manage traffic distribution. Additionally, the data can be used to present alerts and notifications to mobile users, either as a subscription or standard service.

Arcanum’s solution has been deployed successfully in the USA, the United Kingdom, and in Belgium to support Cellular Floating Vehicle Data (CFVD™) projects in these regions. We provide expertise along with our product set to ensure there is a sound basis on which to roll out these services in the coming years.

Our Approach

The approach has been to derive movement information from data in mobile networks using call related anonymous data. We do this by interfacing to ‘non-intrusive’ probes installed in the Network, which have access to SS7 layer data. Our mediation filters then correlate the required data and align this with cell map information.

Billing Mediation

Arcanum Communications has also provided post-paid billing mediation for a new CDMA network in Kenya. This cements our partnership with Elitecore and establishes a firm foothold into the African market. We provided the means to manage CDR’s for both voice and data.
